average food item on a U.S. grocery shelf has traveled farther than
most families go on their annual vacations.”

If
you have a connection with the farm, if you’ve actually walked on the
soil of the farm, it nourishes your soul.

When
it becomes a revolutionary act to eat real food, we are in trouble.

"Cultivators

Chimney Creek Farm CSA Spring Open House
May 20, 2018 - Sunday
Come join the farmers of Chimney Creek Farm as they offer tours and
tastes of their farm on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Deane and Linda Brengle, the Chimney Creek farmers, will be offering
tours of their fields & crops, greenhouses, pigs, chickens, and
bee hives. They will be answering questions about their growing
practices and how their CSA Veggie Box program operates.
The farmers will also be serving tastes of the farm - snacks and
beverages created from their farm fresh produce & meat.
Everyone is invited to attend and to learn more about the new
revolution in how food is grown, purchased, and eaten. A CSA (Community
Supported Agriculture) is a group of people coming together to support
a local farmer by purchasing produce (veggie boxes) directly from the
farm for their
table.
Chimney Creek Farm is a small family farm located in northeast
Kent County serving the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and surrounding
cities with their CSA (home delivery is an option for time strapped
families). They grow everything using only what nature intended. No GMO
seeds, no pesticides, and no chemical fertilizers. They do use
sustainable farming methods, natural soil amendments, cover crops,
compost, and manure to fertilize.
The farm is located at 12101 7 Mile Rd NE Belding MI 48809
(northeast Kent County), just a short 30 minute drive from downtown
Grand Rapids. More information and a map to their farm can be found
online at www.chimneycreekfarm.com
This is a rain or shine event. Please wear appropriate footwear for the
walking tour.
CSA Fall Open
House
October 14, 2018 - Sunday
Come join us Sunday, October 14, 2018 for our Fall Open House,
or "Pumpkin Day" as we like to call it here on the farm. This is an
exclusive day for our CSA members, their families, and a few special
farm friends.
Please come hang out with us Sunday from 1-5
p.m. as we celebrate the end of another successful summer CSA season
with some tasty treats and pick out a free pumpkin. One for every child
(no matter what the age) and for every family. Bring your cameras, it
makes for some good pictures. It's a rain or shine event so come
prepared.
Directions to the farm can be found on our website:
