Barbara Kingsolver

Ann Wigmore

If you have a connection with the farm, if you’ve actually walked on the soil of the farm, it nourishes your soul.

Nigel Walker

When it becomes a revolutionary act to eat real food, we are in trouble.

Mark Hyman

"Cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens. They are the most vigorous, the most independent, the most virtuous, and they are tied to their country and wedded to it's liberty and interests by the most lasting bands."

Can I choose which vegetables are in my veggie box?

The veggie boxes are all packed the same and include the vegetables that are ripe that week. You cannot choose what goes into your individual box. Many people actually find that this encourages them to try new vegetables and helps them realize that fresh, locally grown vegetables can taste dramatically superior compared to the supermarket versions that they thought they didn’t care for. We also have many wonderful recipes on our Pinterest page that utilize the vegetables you will be receiving to help you create meals your family will rave about.

That being said, farm pick up members do have more options. They can swap out items or take extras (early farm pickup members will have more choice).

When can I expect my home delivery?

The delivery day for 2017 is Thursday (another day may be added depending on how many choose farm pickup vs home delivery). Your home delivery will arrive between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on your scheduled delivery day. Your delivery time should be around the same time each week however it may fluctuate based on traffic and the driver's scheduled route for that day.

How can I prepare for my home delivery?

To help keep our costs down and be be as sustainable as possible we do not supply boxes for our home delivery. To maintain the freshness of your share if you are not going to be home we ask that you provide a large cooler with ice or freezer packs outside your door.

How can I prepare for my farm pickup?

Please be on time for your pickup. The farm pickup day for 2017 is Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. To help keep our costs down and be be as sustainable as possible we do not supply boxes for our farm pickups so please bring a container or bags to take your share home with.

Can I split a share with a friend?

Sure. We do offer half shares but if you feel that any of our shares is too much food for you we encourage you to find a friend or family member to share with.

What if I am unavailable to receive my share or I go on vacation on a certain week?

Farm pickup - Ask a friend or a family member to pick it up for you. Please call or drop us an email to let us know when they come so we don't think a stranger is taking your food. You may also schedule a week off. Call us at least 24 hrs in advance and we will take you off that weeks delivery. You may make up a box at a later date for a scheduled skipped week (double box for full box members/double box or a box on an off week for half box members)  If you are unable to have some one else pick up your box or you forget, your box will be held for 24 hrs and you can call to arrange pick up.  Boxes that are not scheduled for a week off or for late pickup will be donated to a local family.

Home delivery - Ask a friend or a family member to pick it up at your house and enjoy it. Your may also schedule a week off. Call us at least 24 hrs in advance and we will take you off that weeks delivery. You may make up a box at a later date for a scheduled skipped week (double box for full box members/double box or a box on an off week for half box members).

Do I live within your delivery area?

We deliver to the City of Grand Rapids and the surrounding metropolitan area (all suburbs). If you live outside this area we may be able to deliver to you (especially if you live in Kent County and north or east of Grand Rapids). Please call us 616-862-2973 or drop us an email if you have a question.

Can we visit the farm?

Yes, unlike the farms that produce grocery store food, you can actually visit our farm! We are a working farm, so please understand that we won't be able to spend a bunch of time visiting. We do request that you check with us to make sure it's a good time to come! Also, we host two "farm days" annually - these days are set aside to be spent with you!

What is your cancellation policy?

Members may cancel at any time, for any reason

What is your refund policy?

In the CSA veggie box model, members are seen as active farm partners, sharing the risks and rewards of the harvest. Should you choose to cancel your subscription, we cannot offer a refund for shares already paid for or partially paid for. You may transfer your subscription to someone else.

All Veggie Boxes must be paid in full before the season starts. Deposits are non-refundable and there are no refunds for partially paid or canceled veggie boxes – The money that you pay for your veggie box is used to grow the crops for the term for which you are subscribing.

Are the vegetables organic?

We use organic growing methods. We use NO genetically modified seeds, NO chemical pesticides, NO herbicides, and NO chemical fertilizers.

The "Organic" label is a defined food industry term legally protected and regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Compliance requires certifications, inspections and fees which we do not want to pass on to our members in the form of higher veggie box prices. Our produce is grown using the highest, healthiest and most sustainable standards possible (higher than any certification requires!) and we invite you to check it out yourself with a farm visit.

Instead we have taken the Michigan Farmer Pledge which covers organic growing practices and 10 other important farm concerns.

Please note:
Occasionally, vegetables and fruits may be sourced from outside the farm. All are local and we strive to source the most healthy options but some may be conventionally grown.
